My hand passed over the canvas, an expanse that resembles the ocean on which the hero sailed. Would there be a parallel between Odysseus’s voyage and the task of transcribing a book? Would the concept of the ordeal form at the heart of the act of rewriting this particular story by hand? Furthermore, the words thus aligned create a texture that is reminiscent of Penelope’s labour of weaving.
